The best airports for long stopovers

Long stopovers can be frustrating, especially if you’re in a hurry to get back home, have a lot of work to do or just need to get some rest. Airport facilities, however, can make all the difference. Flight Centre Business Travel has taken a look at airports around the world and compiled a list of five of the best airports for long stopovers.

Best Airport - Changi

When taking into account the facilities at Changi Airport in Singapore, it’s no wonder that it won the 2016 Skytrax Airport of the Year Award.

The three terminals each boast a 24-hour business centre, offering typing, mailing, photocopying and faxing services.

Enjoy free Wi-Fi in transit areas with WiFi@Changi. Simply launch your Internet browser and key in a valid website address to access the login page. Next, input the password, which you can obtain by requesting a one-time SMS by scanning your passport at one of the Wi-Fi password kiosks or presenting your passport to a customer-service officer.

There are also 550 Internet stations with computers available across all terminals.

Besides various airline lounges for business- and first-class passengers, Changi also has four pay-per-use lounges that economy-class passengers can use. Offerings differ from one lounge to the next but include private resting suites; refreshing showers with full amenities; gymnasiums; beverages and snacks; TVs; business areas with computers, newspapers, magazines and complimentary Wi-Fi; and meeting rooms available for booking.

There’s at least one snooze lounge in all three terminals.

There are charging points for mobile phones across all three terminals.

Best Airport - Dubai
